Five things that i have grown to love in the past 30 days:
One. my new haircut. a few weeks ago, after drinking a couple glasses of wine, i got out a pair of scissors and went to town. short hair is everything it's cracked up to be. it's easy to tame and does not demand to be shampooed daily. i could really use some ear muffs, though.
Two. full spectrum lighting. perhaps it's just the placebo effect, but my happy lite mini plus has really helped my mood during this dreary season.
Three. dinnertime. i recently moved into a new house and my roommates and i decided we would each take a night during the week to make dinner for everyone. it's really nice to have someone knock on my door at 7 o'clock a few nights a week to say, "there's food on the table". it's also really fun to think about what i'm going to make for the days leading up to my nights. last week i made potato kale enchiladas with roasted chili sauce. delicious.
Four. the bellingham unitarian church. okay, i've been loving the unitarian church for a lot longer than the past 30 days, but i've recently decided that i want to become a member. this church is everything that i always loved about church, without the weird stuff. we sing really endearing songs and talk about social justice and it's wonderful.
Five. my bedroom's newly painted walls. i've always wanted to live in a yellow bedroom. it's quite fantastic. especially with the full spectrum lighting. i trick myself into thinking that it's spring all the time.
phew! i found you again in blogland.
